Growing up as a military kid, Laura Houston attended seven schools on three continents. Her work explores what it means to be “home” – whether in a friendship, in a hobby, or within yourself. Hopefully, it also encourages readers to head outside. Laura currently resides in Washington DC, where you can find her searching for interesting insects, reading with her kiddos, or making more tea.
Laura holds an MFA in Writing for Children from Simmons University and a BA in English from the College of William & Mary. She is a graduate of the Columbia Publishing Course. Her work is set to appear in Highlights High Five.
