Laura Houston, Children's Book Writer

Laura Houston is a children’s book writer based in Washington, DC. She writes picture books, chapter books, and middle grade. She is fortunate to have lived all over the world (thirteen different places so far!), so her work explores what it means to be “home” — whether in a place, friendship, hobby, or within yourself. 

Laura holds an MFA in Writing for Children from Simmons University and a BA in English from the College of William & Mary. She is a graduate of the Columbia Publishing Course. Her work is set to appear in Highlights High Five.
